Mold Remediation in Boca Raton, FL

South Florida's humidity makes mold a common problem, especially after a leak. Our remediation process contains the affected area, removes contaminated materials, cleans what can be saved, and addresses the moisture that allowed growth in the first place.

Our mold remediation process

  1. Evaluate

Review inspection findings, define the affected area, and identify the moisture source.

  2. Contain

Set up physical barriers and negative air pressure so spores aren't spread to clean areas.

  3. Filter the air

HEPA air filtration runs throughout the work to capture airborne particles.

  4. Remove

Mold-damaged porous materials such as drywall and insulation are removed and bagged.

  5. Clean

Remaining surfaces and framing are cleaned using appropriate methods.

  6. Restore

Once the area is cleared, the space is rebuilt and finished.

Why the moisture source matters

Removing mold without fixing the moisture that caused it rarely holds up. Common sources in Boca Raton homes include slow plumbing leaks, AC condensate problems, roof or window leaks, and high indoor humidity.

We look for the source as part of every project and recommend the repairs needed, whether that's a plumbing fix, an AC service, or a construction repair our team can handle.

Where we commonly find mold

Under sinks and vanities

Slow leaks under kitchen and bathroom cabinets can go unnoticed for months.

Around AC air handlers

Condensate lines, drain pans, and ductwork can create ongoing moisture.

Behind drywall

Plumbing leaks inside walls often show up first as odor or stained baseboards.

Closets and exterior walls

Areas with limited airflow and temperature swings are prone to condensation.

After remediation: rebuilding the space

Remediation often means removing drywall, cabinets, or flooring. Our renovation team can rebuild the area so you aren't left with an open wall or an unusable bathroom.

Bathroom mold remediation, step by step

A recent mold remediation under a bathroom vanity, documented by our team from removal to the finished, treated surfaces.

Bathroom vanity wall opened to the studs, with mold-damaged drywall removed and the subfloor being HEPA vacuumed

Plastic containment taped over the opened wall, with an LGR dehumidifier and a HEPA air scrubber running in the bathroom
2. Contain and filter the airThe work area was sealed with plastic sheeting and tape. A HEPA air scrubber and an LGR dehumidifier ran to capture airborne particles and pull moisture out of the structure.
Antimicrobial treatment being applied with a fogger inside the contained bathroom
3. Antimicrobial treatmentAn antimicrobial product was applied with a fogger so it reached the framing, subfloor, and surrounding surfaces inside the containment.

4. Cleaned, treated, ready to rebuildThe wall cavity and subfloor were left clean, treated, and dry, ready for new drywall, the vanity, and finishes.
FAQ

Mold Remediation questions

Can you guarantee mold will never come back?

No one can honestly promise that. Mold spores are present in every environment. What we can do is remove active growth, clean affected areas, and help you address the moisture problem, which is the most important factor in preventing new growth.

Can I just paint over mold or clean it with bleach?

Painting over mold doesn't remove it, and household cleaners don't reach growth inside porous materials like drywall. Small surface spots may be cleaned, but larger or recurring growth should be evaluated professionally.

Do I need to leave my home during remediation?

It depends on the size and location of the affected area. Containment is designed to keep the rest of the home usable, but we'll recommend temporary relocation if it's the safer option.

Is mold remediation covered by insurance?

It depends on your policy and the cause. Mold resulting from a sudden covered water loss is treated differently than mold from long-term humidity. Check your policy, and we'll provide documentation of what we find.
